Integrity Critical Equipment

Integrity Critical Performance Criteria

If you have integrity in your HSE critical equipment, little else matters. If you do not have integrity in your HSE critical equipment, then nothing else matters. B&I is able to support our clients with a clear understanding of the important functional safety, health, environmental requirements, while providing optimum reliability to the integrity critical equipment. We can help you verify, validate, or demonstrate, through the development and use of performance standards, that the mechanical integrity of your wells, equipment, and safety systems meet or exceed their critical functional requirements for prevention, protection, and mitigation roles in hazard and risk management.

Codes and Standards

B&I is skilled in assisting our clients’ staff, contractors, and suppliers in applying a quality management system approach to specifying, procuring, fabricating, installing, maintaining, testing, inspecting, and auditing integrity critical equipment. We can support you to ensure the HSE performance criteria are identified and addressed early in the design as well as throughout the project or equipment life cycle. B&I delivers requirements by combining a thorough knowledge of technical HSE including codes and standards, with the practical human element, and by considering project drivers, then documenting the agreed requirements into written performance standards for your ICE and management system. B&I are able to support your implementations well.

SIL Assessments

B&I provide Dependability Analyses (reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis) for your oil and gas producing wells, or injector wells, and surface production systems. B&I have developed in-house reliability and dependability failure mode models in conjunction with Network Analysis to be able to better understand failure modes, failure causes, and dependency of controls. We understand and are skilled in conducting Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments, SIL verification, and preparing safety specifications for process protective instrumentation systems. These technical studies and mathematical models help drive system and equipment designs to improve hazard management and reduce asset risk.

Dependability (RAM) Analysis

B&I have mastered modeling process releases, dispersion, and consequence assessment. This is evidence by staff skilled in using Shell FRED and DNV PHAST hazard consequence modeling software packages as well as our in-house, validated release and dispersion modeling tools.

Network Analysis

B&I bring a very good working knowledge of HSE-relevant aspects contained in prevalent industry codes, standards, and guidelines, e.g. API, ASME, NFPA, ISO, and OGP as well as an excellent working knowledge in the key domestic regulations governing offshore oil and gas industry, as well as various onshore regulations such as OSHA and EPA.
